Mr. Richey holds a BA in Music Education and a MA in Conducting and is certified to teach music K-12. His first teaching position was at the Hun School in Princeton, New Jersey. Mr. Richey joined the Navy in 1981 and earned his wings as a Navy Aviator in 1983. He spent most of his Navy career flying helicopters. Additionally, he served in staff assignments in Washington, DC and Germany, and command assignments in Corpus Christi TX, New Orleans, LA, and Bremerton, WA. After retirement from the Navy, Mr. Richey served briefly as a substitute Music Teacher at Resurrection Catholic School and Sacred Heart Catholic School in Jacksonville. He began teaching music at St Paul’s in January 2012. Mr. Richey is also the Music Teacher and Band Director and Resurrection Catholic School. He, and his wife Ginny, have a daughter who attends Paxon and son who attend Resurrection.
Mrs. Jessica Lally graduated from the University of North Florida in 1999 with a Bachelors in Fine Art in Graphic Design. She is certified in Art K-12. She has been a substitute for both Duval County Public Schools and St. Paul's Catholic School and taught at St. Paul's summer camps. Mrs. Lally joined the St. Paul's staff in the 2010/2011. Her mentor and mother was a computer teacher for Duval County for 20 years and has been surfing the web since 1989. She and her husband Pat were married at St. Paul's in 2001. She is a member of St. Paul's Lady's Guild. They have a son Murphy, that is in 6th Grade at St. Paul's.
My name is Maria Newkirk. I am from Caracas, Venezuela and have a bachelor's degree in Education of English and Spanish as a second language. I am certified to teach grades K-12th. I got my first teaching job in 1989 and have been teaching off and on ever since. I came to the US in 1995 as an exchange teacher for the North Carolina Public school system. I taught 6th-8th grade for three years there. In 2001 I developed a Spanish curriculum for grades K- 8th which was used in public and private schools. We started DLA, Destin Language Academy and offered our program in Florida and Alabama schools for 14 years. I am also a Certified Spanish/ English court interpreter. But my main and most fulfilling job is raising our six wonderful children. I am really excited to be part of the St. Paul's family and am looking forward to an amazing school year!
