My name is Amelia Williams I am a graduate from the University of North Florida with a Master Degree in Counselor Education with a concentration in School Guidance and Counseling. I equally earned a Doctor of Education Degree in Educational Leadership with a cognate in Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida. For 12 years, I served as a School Counselor in Duval County Public Schools, where I had the opportunity to work in the alternative schools, as well as in the comprehensive high schools and elementary schools. In addition, I have taught at the university levels both nationally and internationally. I am proud to share that this experience has afforded me the opportunity to be well-rounded in working at all different levels in academia, particular when working with adult learners.
Today, I am proud to be a Specialist with the Teacher Development and Support Team which I have been a member for the past 4 years. In this position, I am given the opportunity to Support and work closely with novice teachers and those teachers who are new to Duval County Public Schools, as they fulfil their Professional Educator Competency (PEC) requirements. At the same time, I also work with school Administrators and Professional Development Facilitators (PDF) as we continue to prepare and support novice teachers to remain in their chosen profession.
